What do people have to say about Teamspirit?

“Team Spirit have been especially successful in their ‘hands on approach' with each child receiving a drum, and they also brought so much enjoyment and fun into their lessons. Even the least rhythmical child could follow and develop a sense of achievement and contribute to the musical experience.”
- Denise Erasmus, Llandudno Primary School Principal

“I must say, although I was excited about it all, I was a little apprehensive, as I was not sure if what you promised would actually take place, or if the guests would join in. Well, I wasted any thoughts there, because from the moment you arrived to the moment you left, the party was indeed rocking, my guests were having the time of their lives, everyone was united, and the party has been the talking point of my group since. Not only were you great fun, and expert artists, you are also very professional. You needed absolutely no supervision, just a rough brief on what we wanted, and you did the rest. I wish all my business operations could function as well!!
- Dave Lombardi commenting on his combined Harvest Party and 64 th Birthday party (Stellekaya Wines)

“They had it all – correspondence was easy and interactions were warm and friendly. When it came to business they did what they do best. I could just tell them what my purposes and goals were and leave the rest in their capable hands. They handled matters with professionalism and energy, sophistication and vigour.”
- Alex Steinberg, SHAWCO, U.C.T.

“We booked TEAM SPIRIT for several functions, one of them a farewell party for a high ranking German Minister and various other German politicians. Even the stiffest/ most conservative person would be drumming away with a big smile on his face and dancing around an open fire to the drumbeat, unable to sit still!
Patrick and his team really do move people with their rhythms!
- Elke Losskarn, Lossis Words and Images

“The team had a ball generating some groovy African beats!"
- Alison Palthe, UCT Training Manager

"They made all the difference to our wedding celebration - within minutes the party was rocking!"
- Pete & Elaine Woodbridge

"Patrick and his team have serviced us reliably and professionally for years. From providing DJ and MC services for our special events to drumming workshops for children and adults. They truly generate an air of happiness whenever they are here!"
- Anna Carstens-Lembke, Events Manager, Mainstream Centre and Amphitheatre, Hout Bay.

"Just a brief note to say how much I enjoyed the drumming in Hout Bay. I'm now back in England and thinking of you all. The shakers have been a big hit with my friends. Take care - I'll see you next year!"
- Jenni Fleetwood, United Kingdom

“Having joined in the session with a class of 5 year olds, I have seen how drumming enhances listening skills and self expression, encapturing true team spirit.
Patrick's enthusiasm, versatility in story telling, games, dancing and singing involves every child and he knows exactly when to change the tempo or activity.
With a little bit of imagination, the classroom changes into a true bushveld experience under the African skies.
- Liza Kuhn, Llandudno Primary pre – school teacher

And what do the children think?

Our thoughts on Drumming : - Llandudno Primary Pupils

Grade 7- Joe Potter/ Bradley Rabbitte
We found drumming so cool and Patrick let us feel the beat without making us sit still for long lessons in between playing. We felt so relaxed afterwards and good about life.

Michael v.d. Merwe Grade 6
I was nervous at first until I realized we are all musical inside and no one counts your ability.

Emma Cronwright – Grade 6
I feel so alive and I can get so much off my chest. Most of all..It's fun and therapeutic.

Alex Pruim - Grade R
We can make a noise and no one gets cross and it sounds so nice.

Joshua Vaughan - Grade R
I like banging and then it makes a tune again and again. It makes me so excited and happy.

Lisa Khanya Roberts- Grade 1
I like the stories and games Patrick tells and plays and we join in with our instruments.

Justin Panagos – Grade 1
Drumming is a way of life for many people of Africa – its in their roots and now it will be in ours too, because we are also children of Africa.

Carl Haydam - Grade 2
We all get a drum and can play hard and then feel like a big happy family.

Amy Davis- Grade 2
Patrick dances for us and tells us about the African culture and we join in.

Natan Brittz / Elrond James/ Timothy Lindsay Bowman - Grade 3
Drumming is so cool. We can be pop stars and bang in a beat and not get into trouble for being noisy.

Andrea Columbo / Zoe Potgieter - Grade 4
We love modern music in our school and you don't have to be good. Everyone has fun with a drum. Patrick is so nice and Thomene is cool. Dingiswayo is so clever and he drums so fast.

Jarryd Scholtz –Grade 4
It beats schoolwork and its cool. I can keep the beat well. I love drumming at school.

Nic Erasmus/ Tom Kotze/ Dale Panagos –Grade 5
We loved being in a concert with the whole school. It felt nice to be able to be entertainers on a stage at the Waterfront and everyone watched us keep a difficult beat. And our parents joined in too.
