Meet Our Team:
Partick Dilley
Patrick aka Mr P, is a professional “Facilitator of Learning” , holds an internationally
accredited Comp TIA adult trainers qualification and a Diploma in Business Management.
He has been a drummer for 36 years and plays many percussion instruments including djembe (and other traditional drums), congas and drum kit and is a charismatic teacher and a dynamic performer.
Team Spirit was formed as an organization aimed at promoting local drumming and music and facilitates teambuilding and rhythm workshops locally and abroad.
Mr P’s strong facilitating and teaching skills add value to any workshop. Testimonials refer to him as an “instinctual and inspirational motivator”.
Patrick believes in the spirit of the drum as a healing and unifying tool for people from all walks of life.
Thabo Motau
Homegrown South African UCT College of Music graduate Thabo is an excellent multi talented musician and teacher who has been tutored by Dizu Plaatjies and other African masters. He plays mbira, bows, djembe, Shikona reed flute and many other traditional instruments as well as being a proficient jazz musician. Thabo is an excellent facilitator with a keen sense of humour!
Michael Thorn
Teacher, facilitator, drummer, concert pianist and Team Spirit dun dun player Michael Thorn is a SA College of Music graduate. He offers invaluable input to the Team Spirit Band compositions.
Thomene Boshoff
Vocalist for the Team Spirit band, Thomene was operatically trained by one of South Africa’s legendary opera stars, Eve Boswell. She presents vocal training individually or in facilitated groups and has an excellent rapport with people from all walks of life. She also plays backing percussion.
Zenzi Ngwenya
Dancer for Team Spirit, Zenzi’s role is to choreograph dance pieces for shows and to facilitate dancing for interactive events. He is also a djembe and West African flute player and is currently completing a degree at UCT. He carries a vibrant energy on and off the stage.
Ladji Kante
(Guest Master drummer)Ladji grew up traveling and performing with his parents in Mali and West Africa, who are history keepers or griots who relate their heritage with music and song. He is an exceptionally talented djembefola, performer and musician.
